The Fond du Lac School District School Health Programs received a grant to form a Drug Free Communities Task Force to work with the community to decrease drug and alcohol use among young people. The Task Force is currently focusing on two issues: prescription medication misuse/abuse among youth and it’s growing concern. The “Prescription for a Safe Community” Campaign focuses on education of securing, no sharing and proper disposal of medications.

Another topic the Drug Free Communities Task Force is addressing is underage drinking. The community has hosted a Town Hall Meeting on underage drinking and has formed a committee aimed at reducing this problem.
