How do I apply for a job?
You will need to complete the online application at Wisconsin Education Career Access Network and provide all of the necessary supporting documentation to apply for a position within the Fond du Lac School District. Once your application is complete, you can apply to positions through the “Jobs” tab of your application.
Can I apply via email, fax, mail, or by directly contacting the hiring department?
Fond du Lac School District only accepts applications submitted through the online application system. The advantages of an online application system benefit both the applicants and the school system. The online application system provides more options for applicants and more timely updates to job postings. In addition, applications to postings can be processed expeditiously.
What happens after I submit my application?
After submitting your completed application, it is automatically viewable by our principals and human resources staff. Timelines for reviewing applications vary by position, school and department. You can always check the status of the positions you have applied for by going to the “Jobs” tab of your application and clicking on “Applied Jobs” on the left side of the page.
Once you apply, you will receive an email confirming submission of your application. All applications are reviewed and screened. Candidates who best meet the position requirements will be contacted.
Can I update an application once it has been submitted?
Once you have submitted an application, you will be able to log back in and make changes to your information at any time.
Will I be contacted for a job interview?
Principals or a member of their staff will contact the candidates they are interested in interviewing.
I submitted an application, but have not yet heard back. Who should I contact?
Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond personally to all applicants. Should your qualifications match a staffing need, you will be directly contacted.
How will I find out when the position I have applied for has been filled?
If you have applied for a specific open position, you will receive notice via an email when that position has been filled. Also, your profile status will reflect the status of any positions you have applied for. The status of an application for an open position will remain "pending" until that position has been filled.
Do I have to re-enter my information every time I apply?
No. If your application is up to date, you will just have to apply directly to the positions for which you are interested by going to the “Jobs” tab of your application.
Will I still be considered for a teaching position if I do not have certification?
Applications are reviewed by a Human Resources administrator and given consideration. Some of the factors involved in evaluating each application are the needs of the position, the experience and training of the candidate, and the pool of candidates available. Each person hired for a teaching position must be eligible for some type of certification through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI)
How frequently do you update the job postings?
As positions are confirmed, job postings are updated within WECAN. At our busiest time of the year, this can happen on a daily basis.
A job has been posted for a number of months. Is it still open?
If a position is on the website, it is still open and the Principal is still seeking candidates.
Do jobs remain posted after the position has been filled?
Postings are removed once a job has been filled.

One year. You must reactivate your application online each year to be considered for a position. If you question whether your application is still active, contact the Human Resources Department at (920) 906-6501.

When does Fond du Lac School District do its hiring?
Although we prefer to conduct the majority of our teaching position interviews from late February through early July, due to fluctuations in staffing some hiring will be done outside that time frame. Hiring for most support staff jobs takes place throughout the year as positions open up.
