Dr. Jeffrey Fleig was selected as the Fond du Lac School District Superintendent, effective July 1, 2021. You can read more about Dr. Fleig in this news release.

Friend of Education Award

2022-23 Award Recipient – National Exchange Bank Foundation (NEBF)

 The Fond du Lac School District is pleased to announce that the National Exchange Bank Foundation (NEBF) has been selected for the 2022-23 Friend of Education Award.


The Fond du Lac School District partners with the Fond du Lac Education Association to select an individual or group each school year to recognize as a Friend of Education.


“National Exchange Bank Foundation has been a strong supporter of the Fond du Lac School District for over 20 years,” said Dr. Jeffrey Fleig, Fond du Lac School District Superintendent. “Their commitment to our school district and community has and will continue to impact our students for years to come.”


Over the last 20+ years, National Exchange Bank Foundation has provided over $2 million in monetary support to the Fond du Lac School District for various projects, such as Fruth Field, Fond du Lac High School Performing Arts Center and the Cardinal Stadium. In addition, NEBF has supported our Career Construction Academy and the need for crossing cones.


Their generous financial gifts have also directly benefited the following initiatives and groups within the Fond du Lac community:

2021-22 Award Recipient - Dan Hebel, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac

The 2021-22 Friend of Education Award was presented to the Dan Hebel, the CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac, during the Monday, June 6, 2022, Board of Education meeting.

“We wanted to recognize Dan Hebel for his dedicated leadership within the Fond du Lac community,” said Dr. Jeffrey Fleig, Fond du Lac School District Superintendent. “Dan is always willing to collaborate to serve our students.” Hebel has been instrumental in working with the school district to establish partnerships to provide after-school programs. He also collaborated closely with the District throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, such as opening the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac to provide services to local youth on remote learning days. The Club provides a year-round supportive, caring and stable environment for local youth.

2020-21 Award Recipient - Fond du Lac County Health Department

Friend of Education Award presented to Fond du Lac County Health Department
The 2020-21 Friend of Education Award was presented to the “Fond du Lac County Health Department" during the Monday, May 24, 2021, Board of Education meeting.

“We wanted to recognize the Fond du Lac County Health Department for the many ways they have guided and served our District during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Sharon Simon, Interim Superintendent of the Fond du Lac School District. “As we thought about what the Friend of Education Award represents, it was clear to us that the Fond du Lac County Health Department deserves special recognition for all their efforts to protect the safety of our students, staff and families during one of the most challenging times in recent history.”

2019-20 Award Recipient - Parents During the COVID-19 Crisis

The 2019-20 Friend of Education Award was presented to "Fond du Lac School District Parents during the COVID-19 Crisis" during the Tuesday, May 26, 2020 virtual Board Meeting.  Parents were recognized for the incredible way the adapted and partnered with the District to oversee over two months of education at home.  "As we thought about what the Friend of Education Award represents, it was clear to us that parents and guardians deserve special recognition for their tremendous efforts to get their family through one of the most challenging times in recent history, and all while also helping their children stay engaged as a learner with our schools," said Dr. James Sebert, Superintendent.
