The Fond du Lac American Legion Auxiliary is excited to offer students in Grades 3-12 the opportunity to participate in a patriotic essay contest, in conjunction with the Wisconsin State American Legion Auxiliary and the National American Legion Auxiliary! The American Legion will be awarding a $25 cash prize and a medal to the first place finisher in each category. The second place finisher will be awarded a medal. All first-place entries will be forwarded to the state level. State winners may advance to the national level. Local entries are due on March 1, 2018. Please see the attachments for more details. The City of Fond du Lac is looking for individuals to help grade school children in crossing busy intersections safely. Successful candidates would work two hours per day and there are various locations throughout the city where you could work. The two hours per day consist of one hour in the morning and one in the afternoon. Hours are typically from 7:20 to 8:15 a.m. and 3:15 to 3:40 p.m. This is an excellent way to supplement your income. The hourly wage is $10.21. A pre-employment physical, drug screening and background check will be performed. Girls on the Run is a transformational learning program for girls between 8 and 13 years of age. Participants are taught life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. Program registration is available online from Monday, Jan. 15 through Friday, January 26. For more information, see the attached document.
