MISSION “To improve the health of children, families, and the community through the promotion of healthy eating and physical activity”
As was evidenced by the key findings in the most recent County Health Priorities Survey, our community members and stakeholders have high concerns about the many effects of overweight and obesity in Fond du Lac County. The primary roles of the Healthy Kids and Community Coalition are education and advocacy, focusing on the two most important solutions needed to address that health concern – physical
activity and healthy nutrition.
The Coalition is comprised of motivated
individuals representing multiple sectors within the Fond du Lac area, including healthcare, education, business, parents, not-for-profit agencies, recreation/fitness, and government. As community volunteers, we are interested in positively affecting community wellness, especially among our children, by sponsoring, promoting,
facilitating, and recognizing health efforts in increased physical activity and
healthy food choices.
