FAQ's regarding Online Registration

Q: Will all schools use online registration this year?
A: ALL schools in the Fond du Lac School District will be using the online registration process for
continuing students entering grades K-12.
Q: We are new to town. Do we register using online registration?
A: Families new to Fond du Lac will register in person at their school. Elementary schools will be
open for registration for new families beginning on August 15. Middle Schools and the High School
are open all summer, but it is a good idea to call ahead before stopping in.
Q: My child was in 4K last year and will be in kindergarten this year. Do I register him/her
for kindergarten using online registration?
A: Yes. Students who were part of the district’s 4K program are considered to be continuing
students.
Q: Do we have to complete the online registration process?
A: All families must complete the online registration process to ensure we have the most up to
date information.
Q: Where do I access online registration?
A: Access the system via Skyward Family Access which is linked on our website. Click on Family
Access on the Fond du Lac School District website’s home page either in the blue menu box at the
left OR in the drop-down menu under Families.
Q: How do I login to the Family Access system?
A: You will need your Skyward Family Access login and password to start the registration process.
This is the same login you use to check your child’s grades, make food service payments, make
changes to contact information, etc. throughout the year.
Q: What do I do if I have forgotten my username or password?
A: If you are not sure of your login information, there is a link on the login screen that can be
clicked to retrieve your information. If you are still unable to access your account, please contact
[email protected] .
Q: I’m pretty sure I’m using the right information but it still isn’t working.
A: If you seem to be having difficulty logging in, check to be sure you are using your Family Access
login and not your student’s login information. Online registration cannot be completed through
the student login; only families are able to register students.
Q: Can I complete online registration using the Skyward App on my phone?
A: The registration process is not set up to interact with the Mobile App. However, you can still
access online registration on your phone through an internet browser (Safari, Chrome, etc).
Q: I do not have access to a computer. How can I complete the registration process?
A: You can access online registration on your phone through an internet browser (Safari, Chrome,
etc). You can also contact your school office to find out when they will be having open hours for
families to use computers at school to complete the registration process.
Q: My child has parents in two different “Families” in Skyward. Can both Families complete
the registration?
A: If there is a first and second family, Family One must complete the online registration. Family
Two will have access to view the registration information and to make updates to the phone
numbers and contact information for their family.
Q: When will we find out our child’s teacher(s) and/or schedule?
A: Once online registration is complete, you will be able to see your child’s schedule (grades 6-12).
Elementary teacher assignments will be available to view in Family Access at 8:00 AM on August
26, 2019 for families that have completed online registration.
Q: Can fees be paid online?
A: Yes, online fee payments will be available for all schools this year.
Q: Do I have to pay fees online?
A: No, families may pay fees in person at their school.
Q: Am I able to complete the free/reduced lunch application online?
A: Yes, the free/reduced lunch application is an optional step in the registration process.
Q: I have multiple children in the district. Will I have to update our family’s contact
information for each child?
A: No, information that applies to all members of the same family (for example, home phone
number) must only be changed once to update for all members of the same family
