2018 Acuity Grant Recipients

The Fond du Lac School District Board of Education recently reviewed and authorized the annual Fond du Lac School District Acuity Fund grant recipients.  The Fond du Lac School District Acuity Fund supports new and innovative programs and projects proposed by staff members for their students.  The District Acuity Fund became possible via money earned on funds paid to the District by Acuity for naming rights of the Fond du Lac High School Fieldhouse.  For the current school year, a total of $27,460.62 was available; $25,983.00 via the fund, which is held for the District by the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, and $1,477.62 which was donated by Board member Linda Uselmann.

The following Technology proposals were funded:

       X – Carving out the Future – Full STEAM Ahead - Sarah Ludwig, Jarred Gerl, and Robert Kempfer at Woodworth Middle School - $1,829.22

       Learning through Coding - Michelle Paulson at Riverside Elementary School - $1,300.00

       Students See Better with Document Cameras - Dale Smith at Fond du Lac High School - $893.00

      SMART Board 7075 Interactive Panel in Room 2601 at FHS - Kristin Baltz at Fond du Lac High School - $6,783.00

•       Coding Initiative - Dixie Jarchow at STEM Institute - $3,025.00

      4 C’s & Computer Science with Lego WeDo 2.0 Education Core Sets - Ed Schreiber in Instructional Services Center - $2,279.40

 

The following Non-Technology proposals were funded:

       One School, One Book - Lisa Carns at Parkside Elementary School - $1,320.00

      Zen Den (Sensory Room) - Brittany Kimball & Jordan Wendt at Parkside Elementary School - $1,500.00

      If They Build It, They Will Learn! - Gillian King at Woodworth Middle School - $900.00

       The Stretch Zone—Maker-Space - Barb Korneli-Krueger at Rosenow Elementary School - $350.00

       Poetry Luncheons – Heather Meier at Riverside Elementary School - $300.00

       Get Bitten by the Book Bug This Summer – Amy Monka at Lakeshore/Waters Elementary Schools - $2,500.00

       The Riverside Lego Club – Cathy Stevenson at Riverside Elementary School - $426.00

       “Little Shop of Horrors” – Steve Wilson at Fond du Lac High School - $4,055.00

 The Board of Education is excited to be able to provide funding to these innovative educators outside the District's regular operating budget.
