Fond du Lac School District Announces New Assignments

As the door to another school year closes, Dr. James Sebert, Superintendent of Schools, announced the following news regarding the Fond du Lac School District administrative team on Wednesday, May 31. These positions will become effective with the 2017-18 school year.

Amy Rettler will serve as the next Principal of Evans Elementary School. Ms. Rettler currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Woodworth Middle School. Amy earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in 2014, her Master’s degree in Special Education from UW – Oshkosh in 2006, and her Bachelor’s degree in Education majoring in Special Education from UW-Whitewater in 2001.

Michelle Hagen will serve as the next Principal of Roberts Elementary School. Ms. Hagen served as Principal at Fond du Lac High School beginning in 2014, and was an Assistant Principal during the 2013-14 school year. Ms. Hagen has Master’s degrees in Administrative Leadership and Social Work. Her career in education began in October 1990 in the Milwaukee Public School system. She moved into an administrative role as Assistant Principal at Forest Home Avenue School in April 2003 and became a Principal at Mitchell Elementary/Middle School in 2007. She joined the Fond du Lac School District in August 2013.

Jessica Hughes will serve as the next Assistant Principal at Woodworth Middle School. Ms. Hughes has taught social studies, language arts and for the past several years science at Woodworth. She has been at Woodworth since 2003. Jessica received her Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Marian University in December 2005 and her Curriculum and Instruction degree from Concordia University in 2015. She received her Bachelor’s degree from UW - Milwaukee in December 1999 and her teaching license from Marian University in 2002.

Matthew Steinbarth will serve as the next Principal of Fond du Lac High School. Mr. Steinbarth, currently Lakeshore Elementary School’s Principal, has a Master’s degree in Education from Marian University in August 2003, and received his Administrator license from Concordia University in May 2013. He has been with the Fond du Lac School District since December 1999 as a teacher at Parkside Elementary School and then as a Math teacher at Woodworth Middle School in August 2000. He remained there until he became an Assistant Principal at Woodworth in August 2013.
