Fond du Lac County Communications and Emergency Management is asking everyone to please sign up for a new system available in Fond du Lac County called Smart911. Smart911 allows individuals to create a Safety Profile for their household at or on the Smart911 App that includes any information they want 9-1-1 and responders to have in the event of an emergency. www.smart911.com
When an individual makes a 9-1-1 call, their Safety Profile is automatically displayed to the 9-1-1 call taker, allowing them to send the right responders to the right location with the right information. The Smart911 app provides greater access to the lifesaving benefits of Smart911 and targeted location-based alerts to all individuals. The Smart911 App is available on the Apple Store or Google Play.
The information entered is only accessible when 911 is called from a phone number that is tied to a Smart911 profile and is only available to responders for a short time during the call. The information is maintained in a secure database and the information is not able to be queried, shared, or sold.
