Open House Set for Fond du Lac High School’s Architecture • Construction • Engineering Academy on January 16

As we move towards the completion of the Architecture • Construction • Engineering (ACE) Academy, the Fond du Lac School District extends an invitation to the community for a look inside this unique facility located at Fond du Lac High School, 801 Campus Drive.

The Open House on January 16 from 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. promises to provide an interesting perspective on what career paths this industry-supported program will offer students and how the coursework and instructors will guide them along the way. Attendees will also witness the thought put into the facility’s layout, and see student demonstrations as well as some of the equipment and tools that were donated to the program to ensure students are learning in a relevant working environment.

The ACE Academy is the culmination of a tremendous amount of planning between Fond du Lac High School staff and school district administration, over 38 industries and businesses, and area technical schools in order to address the decreasing pool of students pursuing trades careers. A key objective of the ACE program is to promote, develop, and build the trades careers and to foster a partnership between the school, parents, and the construction industry. Justin Smith, C.D. Smith, shared “We are excited to embark on this collaboration with educators realizing that it will not only provide us with future workers, it will build a stronger economy in the Fond du Lac area.”

Dr. Sebert added, “I am so proud of what education and industry are accomplishing by working together to address the needs of a changing workforce and to provide area students with expanded career opportunities for their futures.”
