UPDATE 11/18/20: We are excited to share a NEW Food Service Update – that free meals will continue into the school year. The USDA announced that school breakfast and lunch will be free to all children 18 and under through June 30, 2021, or until the USDA runs out of funds.  This means that all children 18 and under can get free breakfast and lunch daily, following the school calendar, whether they are enrolled in our District or not.
UPDATE 5/25/21: We are excited to share a NEW Food Service Update – that free meals will continue through the 2021-22 school year. The USDA announced waiver extensions that will allow school breakfast and lunch to be free to all children 18 and under through June 30, 2022. This means that all children 18 and under can get free breakfast and lunch daily, following the school calendar. The district will be taking advantage of the many waiver extensions offered by the USDA to provide a safe and efficient food service operation in the new school year.

Students Participating in the In-Person Learning Platform During the Traditional Modified Model

For students participating in the In-Person Learning Platform during the Traditional Model, they are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch daily through June 30, 2021. Elementary Students also have the option to receive a 2-day meal pack to consume over the weekend. We encourage you to communicate with your child’s teacher or principal if they would like to take one home. The 2-day meal packs will be provided to our In-Person students at the end of the day on Fridays. This would supplement any assistance currently available to students, not replace it.

Students Participating in the Remote Learning Platform and Children Not Enrolled in our District

For students in the Remote Learning Platform and local children not enrolled in our schools, meals will be available on a pre-order and pick-up basis. A weekly meal pack will be available to be picked up at the Administration Center front garage doors on each Monday from 11 am - 1 pm. In order to help our food service staff plan, please pre-order your weekly meal pack by noon Friday using this form http://bit.ly/FDL-Food-Order.  (Pre-ordering is preferred but not required.) Starting April 6th, each meal pack will also contain extra fresh fruits or vegetables provided by the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program grant. The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides all children in participating schools with a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetables during the school day. It is an effective and creative way of introducing fresh fruits and vegetables as healthy snack options."
