The Fond du Lac School District Board of Education selected Antonio Godfrey Sr. to fill the vacant Board member position. The vacancy was created when Peggy Breister resigned from the Board on June 1, 2020.
The Board of Education sought letters of interest from individuals in the community willing to accept an appointment to the Board as a result of Breister’s resignation.
Eight community members submitted letters of interest for the vacancy: Antonio Godfrey Sr., Joe Guyette, Ishamon Harris III, Mark Henschel, Dr. Kay Miller, Meagan Stitt, Farah Tabassum and Jim Prosser. The Board interviewed the interested candidates during a June 29, 2020, workshop and made the appointment in a special meeting that followed.
Godfrey was selected by the Board for appointment to the open seat. His appointment begins on July 13, 2020. By law, this vacancy will then be filled at the next General Election in April 2021.
