Fond du Lac High School is proud to announce that Steven Reinhardt has been named the next head coach of the Cardinals girls basketball program.

Coach Reinhardt brings over 20 years of head coaching experience and a strong record of building successful programs. Most recently, he served as a varsity assistant at Arrowhead, helping the team reach back-to-back WIAA State Tournaments and win the 2024 Division 1 championship.

Before Arrowhead, he led programs at Grafton, Brown Deer, and Slinger high schools. His longest tenure was at Slinger, where he led the girls program for 18 seasons and retired after a 31-year teaching career as a physical education teacher.  During his time as a head coach, he has won 361 games, a testament to his consistency, leadership and ability to develop competitive teams. In 2001, he guided Slinger to a Division 2 state runner-up finish and was named the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Coach of the Year.

“Coach Reinhardt has demonstrated the ability to lead and grow programs at every stop in his career,” said Kevin Flegner, Fond du Lac athletic director. “His teams have consistently improved under his leadership, and he brings a level of experience, integrity and program-building that will be a tremendous asset to our student-athletes. We are thrilled to welcome Coach Reinhardt to the Fondy Athletics family.”

Coach Reinhardt succeeds Tyler Williams, who served as the interim head coach during the 2024-25 season. The school thanks Coach Williams for his leadership and dedication over the past year.

Please join us in welcoming Coach Reinhardt to the Cardinals community.

We also thank the members of the hiring committee for their thoughtful input and support of the program’s future.

Student-athletes are invited to meet Coach Reinhardt on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 3:30p in the Fond du Lac High School Community Room. A family meeting will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 6p in the Community Room.
