Fond du Lac High School is excited to welcome Josh Dilling as head coach of the Cardinals boys basketball. An Oshkosh North 2020 graduate and accomplished collegiate student-athlete, Coach Dilling brings a blend of basketball expertise, academic excellence and Fox Valley area connections to Fond du Lac.

Coach Dilling recently completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in Sales Management at Northern Kentucky University, where he also competed at the Division I level. Along the way he honed his teaching skills by assisting at basketball camps, including UW‑Oshkosh’s camp and the Point Guard College. His playing career previously took him to Northern State University, Queens University of Charlotte, and the University of Minnesota Crookston.

Coach Dilling’s business-focused academic background, including a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and minor in Public Relations, equips him to strategically lead the program and mentor student-athletes in all aspects of their development.

Coach Dilling also has ties to Fond du Lac; his sisters, Alex Kenealy (Class of 2008) and Devin McGovern (Class of 2011) are both Cardinals alums.

“I'm honored and humbled by this opportunity,” said Coach Dilling. “With respect for our proud tradition and community, my goal is to lead with integrity, listen with intention and help these players grow — on the court and far beyond it.”

Coach Dilling succeeds Coach Nick Ford, who stepped down after six impactful seasons to relocate to Milwaukee.

“After an extensive search, we’re excited to welcome Coach Dilling to the Cardinals family,” said Kevin Flegner, athletic director. “His basketball experience and contagious enthusiasm will energize our program. We look forward to the positive impact Coach Dilling will have on our student-athletes and the entire Cardinal basketball community.”

A meet-and-greet with Coach Dilling for student-athletes and their families is planned for late August or early September; more details will follow.
