About Fondy Central

Fondy Central & GEDO 2 Alternative Program

A structured, supportive path to a high school diploma for seniors and second-semester juniors who have not found success in a traditional setting. The program serves students who are at least one year behind in credits and who are ready to meet Fondy Central’s expectations for attendance, behavior and academics.

How it works

  • Students complete the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to determine placement in either the GED Option 2 (GEDO 2) pathway or the Fondy Central curriculum.

  • All juniors are placed in the Fondy Central pathway.

  • GEDO 2 combines coursework with real-world responsibility. Students agree to volunteer or maintain employment for at least 10 hours per week while earning credits toward a diploma.

Graduation requirements (GEDO 2)

Students must:

  • Pass up to four GED tests: Mathematics, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies

  • Complete a Health course

  • Complete a Financial Literacy course

  • Pass the Wisconsin Civics Exam

  • Volunteer or maintain employment (minimum 10 hours per week)

Who should consider this program: Motivated seniors and second-semester juniors seeking a smaller, more structured environment with clear expectations and a direct route to graduation.

For enrollment details or next steps, please schedule an appointment with your school counselor or assistant principal during the regular school year to review the application process. During the summer months, you will need to make an appointment with an assistant principal.

The goal of this program is to provide a supportive educational environment with high expectations for students. It is an alternate means of earning a high school diploma.

A diploma obtained at this alternative high school may not meet the coursework requirements for admission to a four-year university or college.
