7th/8th Grade Travel Volleyball ~ Sabish 2026

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year and the beginning of the volleyball season!

Teams/Games
On the first day of volleyball, we will hold tryouts. Approximately 12 players will be selected for each travel team. Transportation is provided to and from all away games, and the 7th and 8th grade teams will travel together. Players may ride home with a parent or guardian after an away game, provided they sign out with a coach.

Players who are not selected for a travel team are encouraged to participate in the Recreation Department volleyball program. This program begins after the start of the school year, is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, and includes games against Woodworth and Theisen. Watch for school announcements with practice dates and additional information.

Practices
Players are expected to attend all practices unless they are absent from school or have a note from a parent or guardian. Repeated unexcused absences may result in reduced playing time or dismissal from the team. Coaches will also regularly communicate with teachers to monitor academic performance and behavior. Playing time may be affected by failing grades or behavior concerns.

Throughout the season, we will emphasize hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Players will be encouraged to challenge themselves, improve their volleyball skills, support their teammates, and represent our school with pride. Most importantly, we hope everyone has a fun and rewarding season!

Tryouts are Monday, August 24th at 3:30 until 5:00 (see full calendar below). Make sure you’re ready to go with athletic shoes, shorts, a t-shirt, and knee pads (encouraged, but not required).

• $20 participation fee (cash or check payable to Sabish)

• Physicals - these are now optional at the middle school level

• Spirit Wear - Order forms will be available for optional volleyball spirit wear. 

Participation is not allowed in games until forms are in and the fee is paid.
