Fond du Lac, WI – May 14, 2026 – Parkside Elementary School has been named a 2026 National Gold Star School by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). This honor recognizes schools that demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovative instructional practices, and a deep-seated dedication to student achievement. Parkside is part of an elite inaugural cohort, being one of only 57 schools nationwide to receive this distinction, and one of 47 elementary schools.
“This award is a testament to the culture of excellence our staff and students build every single day,” said Amy Jahn, Principal of Parkside Elementary. “Being recognized as a Gold Star School validates our commitment to creating an environment where every child feels supported and inspired to reach their full potential.”
The National Gold Star Schools program evaluates schools based on the three core pillars:
Established Culture: Focus on shared values and family engagement
Empowered People: Commitment to collaborative teaching and holistic student support
Optimal Systems: Strategic use of resources to drive student growth
“We are incredibly proud of the Parkside community,” added Matt Steinbarth, Superintendent. “This national recognition reflects the strategic focus our district places on growing leadership at the building level to ensure high-quality learning outcomes for each and every student.”
By maintaining a relentless focus on what matters most and aligning systems to that purpose, Parkside Elementary has created an environment where teaching and learning thrive, resources are used effectively, and students achieve extraordinary growth and success.
