Students and teachers from the Fond du Lac High School Art Department were at the Goodrich Little Theater today to prepare a beautiful display of their artwork for Monday's Martin Luther King Day Jr. celebration. The student art gallery celebrates their talent, creativity and personal stories while honoring the vision and dreams of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Stop by and see their creativity come to life as we get ready to honor Dr. King's legacy on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. Thank you to FHS Art Department staff: Mr. Herr, Mrs. Hawkins, Ms. Kelly, Ms. Rhodes (student teacher), and thank you Terrance Lofton for providing lunch for all. UPDATE: Due to the extreme cold, the art gallery will be open Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, from 4-6p. Betty Vazquez, a Fond du Lac (Fondy) graduate, serves as the Supervisor of English Language (EL) and Bilingual Education in the Fondy School District. Betty joined the district in 2012 and has recently stepped into this newly created role, where she supports EL teachers along with implementing innovative programs and techniques to help EL and bilingual students succeed. Congratulations to the 18 Fondy students selected to perform as part of the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association (WCDA) All State Choir Program on January 10-11, 2025. This program celebrates outstanding young singers from across Wisconsin, providing them the opportunity to work with nationally recognized conductors and perform at the WCDA Winter Conference in Appleton. The All-State Choirs challenge students to push their musicianship to a new level while giving them the joy and satisfaction of singing alongside other distinguished musicians.
