The culturally and linguistically diverse student population of the Fond du Lac School District welcomes over 15 different native languages into our classrooms. It is the philosophy of the school district to provide equal educational opportunities to all students. The goal of the English learner (EL) program is to enable our English learners (ELs) to become competent in the understanding, speaking, listening, reading and writing of the English language through the development of literacy and academic skills in grade level content areas. We do this by planning for systematic, explicit, and sustained language development within each of the content areas and using the WIDA English Language Development Standards Framework as our guide.
