Remote Learning for 2021-22

Remote LearningThe Fond du Lac School District expects students to return to in-person schooling for the 2021-22 school year, although we do realize that some students may need a remote education option due to extenuating health conditions. The remote learning platform will not be taught by Fond du Lac School District teachers this school year, as we will be contracting with the Wisconsin Virtual School (WVS). Remote Learning Accommodation (Ages 12 and Older)

Parents/guardians of students ages 12 and older who want to participate in remote learning must complete and submit the form below. A student aged 12 and older is eligible for remote learning for the 2021-22 school year only if the Fond du Lac School District receives this form with a statement from a licensed physician, physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse indicating that the student is at increased risk of severe illness due to a pre-existing condition or has special health care needs (e.g., regular oxygen administration, medically fragile). A student may also be eligible for remote learning if they live with an individual who is at increased risk of severe illness from infection with COVID-19.

Please contact Katie Moder, Director of Pupil Services, with any questions at (920)906-6520 or by email.

Please complete and return this form to the Fond du Lac School District at 72 W. 9th Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935, by August 16, 2021 deadline was extended to August 20, 2021.

Remote Learning (Ages 11 and Under)

The District realizes the vaccine for COVID-19 is not yet available for students ages 11 and under and there might be hesitancy for parents/guardians to send their children back to school. As a result, the District is prepared to honor requests for remote learning for students ages 11 and under. Wisconsin Virtual School (WVS) does not offer a 4-year-old kindergarten option at this time.
Students who start the school year in remote learning will be required to attend and engage in the WVS program similarly to students attending school in-person. Students' attendance and engagement will be monitored closely. If students are unable to engage in WVS, the District will move the student to in-person learning at the start of the next grading period. Parents who choose remote learning may only transition a student back to in-person learning at the change of a grading period. If you are interested in WVS for your child ages 11 or under, please complete this Remote Learning Application Form (Ages 11 & Under) and your child’s Principal or Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) will connect back with you.
